It’s harvest time, and for the Wiregrass area, that means peanuts. Have you ever wondered how they harvested peanuts 100 years ago? You can find out Saturday, October 17, at Landmark Park’s Fall Farm Day 2020.
Fall Farm Day
There’s no better way to step back in time than by coming to Landmark Park’s Fall Farm Day 2020. This family-friendly annual event is held on the grounds of Dothan’s 135-acre Landmark Park.
Awaken your senses and your imagination with the sights, sounds, and even sweet smells of life on a farmstead in the 1890s. Volunteers demonstrate sugar cane grinding and syrup making; household chores (your children might realize they do, in fact, have it made!); peanut picking; arts and crafts and more.
There will also be live music and the antique Tractor Pull and Parade. Visit the Martin Drugstore and stop by the Shelley General store while you are browsing the grounds. Be sure to save time for wagon rides and admiring the beautiful handiwork of local quilters with the “largest quilt display in the Wiregrass region.”
