The 5th Annual Southeast Alabama Highland Games draws from a rich Scottish tradition, where members from different clans congregate to compete—and have fun too! Visitors can show off their athletic prowess or kick back and watch the festivities. So go ahead—bring the whole family!

What can I do at the Games?

Folks of all ages are welcome at the 5th Annual Southeast Alabama Highland Games. Even dogs are allowed to attend! That means that there will be activities for everyone, so no visitor is left out. Some of the fun features include:

  • Kids’ competitions;
  • Food and drink vendors;
  • Demonstrations;
  • A parade;
  • Sheaf tosses;
  • Scottish hammer throws;
  • Caber tosses;

It begins at 9 a.m. on March 21, with welcoming ceremonies and a parade at 12 p.m. and awards given out around 4:30 p.m. And if you want to compete, remember: you must apply on their website first!

Finally, don’t forget to buy your tickets! They run $10 per person, though children aged 10 and under will get in for free.
